Copyright  Laws for Online Learning and Development

Course Description:
​This course is an introduction to the basics of copyright laws, fair use guidelines, and ADA compliance regulations relevant to the design process. Topics included:  intellectual property as it applies to businesses and organizations and providing a practical framework for analyzing copyright issues encountered in professional work.   Real-life examples, some complex, were used for systematic analysis of copyright problems in course design.

Course Reflection:
This course taught me about copyright law in course design.  Throughout this course I discovered how to be mindful of copyright while designing courses and the content used in my course design.  I was also able to develop a better understanding of intellectual property law and how to be mindful of intellectual property while designing.  I developed a fair use checklist to assist others in course development.
